The Denver Architectural Foundation jointly toured the Ralph Carr Justice Center with the National Society of Professional Engineers. Approximately one year ago we toured the Ralph L. Carr Judicial Center when it was still under construction.
The Colorado Judicial Center is a significant piece of civic architecture prominently sited on the edge of Denver’s Civic Center Park.
The building is approximately 600,000 gross square feet. Of the 600,000 square feet, approximately 135,000 square feet is associated with the 4 story courtroom complex including judicial chambers, staff attorney offices, the law library, and support spaces.
The remaining 465,000 square feet is located in a 12 story office tower that houses primarily office space for State Court Administration and the Attorney General offices.
The building features a 5 story atrium, granite clad precast skin, a green roof, and the supreme court of the State of Colorado. The building will achieve USGBC LEED Gold certification.
