Historic Denver, Inc. and the Denver Architectural Foundation presented a joint event, Traveling Through Time, an exploration of Denver’s transportation architecture past and present.

The tour began at Union Station with a continental breakfast at 8:30 am. Featured projects included the rehabilitation of Union Station, the plans and progress on the new buildings that will flank Union Station, the adaptive reuse of one of Stapleton’s first airplane Hangars, Hangar 61 into the Stapleton Fellowship Church, and the efforts underway to construct a hotel and transit addition to Denver International Airport.

Expert speakers guided the group at each tour location, and guests included Dana Crawford of the Union Station Alliance, Jim Johnson of JG Johnson Architects, Jeff Poorten of Anderson Mason Dale Architects, Larry Nelson and Ruth Falkenberg of 620 Corps, Adam Ambro of Gensler Architects, and representatives from RTD.
