Beyond the Facade: Inside the Work of Davis Partnership Architects
Thursday November 14, 2024
About the event: Join Denver Architecture Foundation and Davis Partnership Architects for a tour of Davis’ historic office building and a presentation of the inner workings of two major buildings in Denver: The Freyer Newman Center at the Denver Botanic Gardens and One River North. Presentations will cover the overview of the buildings and the process of bringing these projects to life. Following the presentations, we will tour the historic building where Davis works, The Bindery on Blake.
About the building: The Bindery on Blake is a 97 year old building with a rich history in Denver’s industrial age. Over the years the building has been used as a foundry, print shop, storage facility, and an automotive house. Davis Partnership moved into this location to grow their firm. The goal was to keep the history and industrial feel while presenting a clean and bright space for the firm.
About the Tour Guide: James Palmer is the Facility Coordinator with Davis Partnership Architects. Originally from Florida, James, made his way out to Colorado in 2019. He has worked in facilities for 3-4 years now. James has a deep care for historic buildings and the stories that come with them. Taking care of the people in the building as well as the building itself brings a lot of joy and accomplishment to him. Living and working in Colorado is a dream come true.
About the One River North Presenters: Senior Associate Jeff Stoecklein, Senior Architect Tim Gordon, and Senior Design Professional Ariadne Kaptur will share the story of One River North. Jeff is a landscape architect whose passion lies in creating inspirational outdoor spaces. While at Davis Partnership, Tim has focused on commercial and multifamily projects in all phases of design and construction. Ariadne is originally from the East Coast and works on projects of varying types, scopes, and scales with Davis.
About the Freyer Newman Center Presenter: Patrick Lee is Director of Design with Davis Partnership. His experience ranges from time working in Germany to Denver’s Faleide Architecture Studio before joining the team at Davis Partnership.
Accessibility: The Bindery is an ADA accessible building with space for wheelchair access during the presentation and tour. There will be opportunities for seated rest.
