About the tour: Join the Denver Architecture Foundation and DLR Group for a tour of the recently renovated Curtis Hotel in Downtown Denver. Each floor has been reimagined to exhibit a feeling of pure fun for all guests. With thirteen floors and 336 guest rooms, each space showcases a different theme with interactive elements to engage with. This tour will explore the lobby, which has many references to various Colorado pastimes, and a few guest rooms, allowing attendees a glimpse into the various themes that bring Denver’s happiest hotel to life.
About the building: The Curtis Hotel was originally designed by Richard Sidoroff of Newman, Cavender, and Doane, a prominent firm known for their work developing Denver’s skyline before being acquired by DLR Group. The building opened as the Executive Inn in 1974, a multi-use complex with hotel rooms and offices. Sage Hospitality launched a massive redevelopment project of the 30-story building after the offices were closed, and the hotel is now operated by DoubleTree by Hilton with Auraria Student Lofts on the upper floors.
About the tour guide: Stephanie Gearhart is a Principal and Interior Designer at DLR Group. Her passion for design is focused on crafting unique and meaningful interiors that evoke emotion and curiosity.
Accessibility: The hotel is fully accessible and guests will be able to use the elevator to move between floors.
Refund policy: The Denver Architecture Foundation is a nonprofit educational organization. Ticket sales support the Foundation in continuing to provide quality events to the public. We are unable to provide refunds or credits for any reason less than 48 hours prior to the event.
Please note that DAF tours take place rain, snow or shine. If your tour includes an outdoor portion, please dress for the weather. DAF staff will contact all attendees directly should a tour be cancelled for any reason.
