Doors Open Denver Photo Contest: Y/OUR Denver

We are excited to partner with the Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) to bring you the Doors Open Denver 2018 Photography Competition, Y/OUR DENVER. This is your opportunity to find and photograph your favorite areas of Denver and enter your images into a juried competition. This call is looking for all forms of architectural imagery: black & white and color, exterior, interior and detail images are welcome from photographers of all skill levels. Thirty images will be showcased on the DAF and CPAC websites for this online exhibition. Find uploading tips here and submit your photos by October 1 via CaFÉ, Call for Entry.

JUROR
Samantha joined CPAC as Executive Director in September of 2015. A photographer, arts administrator and educator, she made the move west to Denver from the East Coast in 2010. Prior to joining CPAC, she taught photography and visual arts for 12 years at high schools in Boston and Denver. She is a longtime member of the Society for Photographic Education, and served as Treasurer of the Southwest region from 2013-2016 and Co-Chair of a Southwest regional conference in Denver (Letters to an Emerging Artist). Her photographs have been shown in numerous exhibitions nationally and she continues to be an active artist in the community. She has reviewed portfolios at Houston FotoFest, Review Santa Fe, Medium and PhotoPlus New York, and was a juror for Critical Mass and The Fence. She holds a certificate in Arts Development and Program Management from the University of Denver, an MFA from Lesley University College of Art & Design and a BFA from Alfred University. She was named one of Colorado’s Top 100 Creatives 3.0 by Westword and featured in Lenscratch in April 2016.

ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to Colorado residents, age 18 or older. The following media are eligible: film; scanner; screen-capture; digital camera; and any means of mobile photography. No video submissions allowed.

Photos are not limited to Doors Open Denver 2018 open sites, but must be sites within the City of Denver. (Please be aware that some sites have restrictions on interior and/or exterior photography, so please ask first.)

  • By providing your email address, you agree to receive updates about DAF’s and CPAC’s programs, events and news.
  • Upon your acceptance, the work will be shown on the DAF & CPAC websites.
  • Your entry constitutes understanding and agreement with the terms & conditions outlined in this prospectus.

USE RIGHTS: Each artist retains all copyrights to their own images. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use. By submission for jurying, artists whose submissions are chosen for the online exhibition grant the Denver Architecture Foundation and the Colorado Photographic Arts Center the right to use their images for the purpose of promoting the artist, promoting DAF’s and CPAC’s programs, promoting exhibitions and subsequent display on DAF’s and CPAC’s websites of current and past exhibitions, and represents that the artist created the image and has the right to make this grant of use. Promotions and images may also be placed on social networks for the Denver Architecture Foundation and the Colorado Photographic Arts Center with artist credit. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from DAF or CPAC.
