Join us for this in-person Doors Open Denver 2022 Insider Tour at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. One tour dates is available:

  • Saturday, October 8, 9-10:30am

About the tour: Discover the unique Boettcher Concert Hall, the first ‘in the round’ symphony hall in the US. Its 2,600 seats surround the orchestra on all sides, providing an intimate and acoustically excellent experience. When it opened in 1978, it was the first new venue completed in the Arts Complex master plan. Hear how thoughtful design details—down to the shape of the seats—contribute to Boettcher’s acoustic quality. The hall hosts classical, pops and film score programs, primarily by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

About the Arts Complex: The Denver Performing Arts Complex is one of the nation’s largest and most diverse in terms of venue sizes and types. It hosts performances ranging from classical orchestral music to touring rock and pop, ballet to modern dance and Broadway tours to immersive media/performance. The ten separate performance spaces are united by a single outdoor lobby, the Galleria.

About the tour guide: Chris Wineman, Principal at Semple Brown Design, has worked on design projects in the Denver Performing Arts Complex since 1994. He is trained as an actor and director and has played multiple roles in performing arts design projects for more than 30 years. Semple Brown has been involved in design projects in all of the venues of the DPAC over more than 25 years.

Accessibility: As the tour may enter into behind-the-scenes or on-stage areas, certain elements of the tour may be wheelchair inaccessible. Opportunities for rest on this 90-minute walking tour will be limited.
