Doors Open Denver: Creativity and Construction at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance

Friday, September 27

Come to an evening of “Creativity and Construction at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance” headquarters for a performance and tours of the Shorter AME church and their major expansion.

About the event: Our special evening of “Creativity and Construction at Cleo Parker Robinson” will begin with welcome remarks from Cleo Parker Robinson Dance president and CEO Malik Robinson, followed by a dance performance by Cleo Parker Youth Ensemble, a cocktail reception, and building and site tours. Learn about the historic Shorter AME church and how the exciting new expansion into a three-level, 25,000 square foot building designed by Fentress Architects will complement the organization’s historic headquarters. The joining of past and future structures will be known as the Cleo Parker Robinson Center for the Healing Arts. Plans include a below-ground-level theatre, four rehearsal studios, administrative offices, full CPRD Academy operations, and a walk-out elevated deck. The old and new will be connected by a two-story glass atrium. Mortenson is leading the construction team in building this iconic Rocky Mountain Region cultural facility.
