Golden Triangle Architecture Exhibition Series: History Colorado

Wednesday, May 25, 2022

About the tour: Join Julie Peterson, Exhibit Developer and Public Historian at History Colorado, for a guided tour of the museum’s marquee exhibition, Building Denver: Visions of the Capital City. This exhibition shares the many visions for and stories of the growth, urban development and architecture of Denver from 1860 to today. Four different eras throughout Denver’s history show how civic leaders, designers and residents have steadily worked to bring their own visions of Denver to life by engaging the city’s natural landscape, navigating the movement of people across the city and responding to a boom and bust economy. Through each vision, the exhibition examines how design affects everyday life. The final section, A Resilient City: Denver’s Future, encourages residents to advocate for their vision for Denver’s future. Visitors will see examples of how Denverites have grappled with key issues regarding urban development over time: housing, mobility, the public realm, health and the environment.

Please note: All attendees will be required to sign a waiver of liability and answer a COVID-19 questionnaire prior to the in-person tour.
