History of Cherry Creek Shopping Center with History Colorado

July 9, 2024

About the lecture: Join us for an informative lecture on the history of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, Denver’s first modern shopping mall. Constructed in 1949 on the site of the former city dump by famous Denver architect and developer, Temple Hoyne Buell, the Cherry Creek Shopping Center shaped the history of the iconic Cherry Creek neighborhood. This presentation will explore the history of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center from its original design through its 1990s renovation, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at artifacts and archival materials from History Colorado’s Temple Hoyne Buell Collection.
