About the Museum: The Denver Museum of Nature & Science envisions an empowered community that loves, understands, and protects our natural world. Opened in 1908 as The Colorado Museum of Natural History, the Museum today hosts programs, exhibits, and research that create opportunities for citizens to become actively involved in science and inspire a passion for exploring and understanding our natural and cultural world.

About the Tour Guide: Jacqueline Altreuter is the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, where she supports the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of the Museum’s strategic direction. Over more than two decades, she has led initiatives that expand access to nature and science through community engagement and innovative design direction. Most recently, she championed Nature Play—a 4‑acre outdoor experience in City Park that reimagines the Museum’s iconic dioramas into accessible, multi-sensory, multi-generational spaces for respite, play, and connection. Deeply committed to transparency and inclusiveness, Jacqueline consistently works to amplify the voices of staff, volunteers, and the community in shaping the Museum’s direction and impact.
