About the tour: Fresh on the heels of a new rezoning decision, join Denver Architecture Foundation for a walking tour of York Street Yards with developer Fred Glick and executives from SKB and Pennrose! The former Denver Army Medical Depot campus was built in 1942 to support the war effort and is now home to Denver’s most vibrant industrial mixed-use development. The tour will provide an inside look at the current development, as well as a discussion on plans for Colorado’s first LGBTQ+ affirming senior affordable housing project.

About York Street Yards: The complex contains a number of historic industrial buildings designed by famed Denver architect and innovator Temple Buell, as well as the recently-completed Lighthouse Writer’s Workshop building by award-winning local architect Collin Kemberlin. We’ll explore York Street Yard’s innovative adaptive reuse of the warehouse buildings and discuss how the affordable housing project will be incorporated into the campus.

About the tour guides: Fred Glick is a developer and planner who led the York Street Yards rezoning. He lives in The Boiler House, an adaptive reuse project on the site which was previously featured in Doors Open Denver. Fred is the vice-chair of the Denver Planning Board.

Rebecca Arnold is SVP with SKB and Asset Manager for York Street Yards. She has worked on the York Street Yards since its acquisition in 2020, leading leasing, re-development, financing, and management efforts. Rebecca has over 12 years of experience in commercial real estate across functions and asset types.

Fred and Rebecca will be joined by a representative of Pennrose, who will be developing the affordable housing project.

Accessibility: This will be a walking tour and primarily outside. There is wheeled access throughout the Yards.
