CALL FOR ARCHITECTS ⬇️ The CAL Project of the CALL FOR ARCHITECTS ⬇️

The CAL Project of the Denver Architecture Foundation connects professionals in the built environment fields with K-8 classrooms for an eight-week experiential learning program every spring. Industry professionals lead sessions in four key topics in architecture and design that culminate in the creation of models, maps, and other projects showcasing students’ learning.

We are looking for more practitioners interested in educating the next generation of potential architects! Practitioners can be:

•students studying architecture, engineering, or design
•retired professionals looking for a way to give back to the community
•architecture, construction, engineering, or interior design firms interested in sharing their expertise
•individual practitioners with their own practices or at firms that aren’t volunteering

The deadline to commit to the CAL Program is November 30. We’ll pair practitioners with classrooms by mid-December. Training takes place in late January. The program runs from February to May.

If you’re interested, email hello@denverarchitecture.org!

Adaptation and Innovation: A Tour of the Boiler Ho Adaptation and Innovation: A Tour of the Boiler House
Monday, November 10
from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
for Denver Architecture Fondation members

Join us for a rare opportunity to tour inside one of Denver’s most innovative single-family residential adaptive reuse projects. This tour will be jointly led by the homeowners and architect. Learn about how the historic structure was renovated and adapted to include custom features such as a viewing room for art and artifacts collections, extensive solar panels, uplighting on interior roof trusses, a bedroom and library in the former coal silo, and a sunken garden. The Boiler House incorporates the original smokestack, coal silo, and fly-ash building into a unique home which celebrates its original industrial volumes and materials. This property won a Mayor’s Design Award in 2021.
