Recap: Capitol Hill Mansion Tour
On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, we enjoyed a special evening at Capitol Hill Mansion, Bed and Breakfast Inn. Carl S. Schmidt II, the Bed and Breakfast’s owner and chef, treated attendees to yummy snacks and stories about the mansion’s history and current function.
Nestled in the quaint Capitol Hill Neighborhood of downtown Denver, this romantic Bed and Breakfast is a Colorado and National Historic Landmark and is just a short walk from everything in the Mile High City, including attractions, gourmet restaurants, theaters, museums and shopping.
Built in 1891, the gorgeous ruby sandstone mansion is located on Denver’s famous “Millionaires Row,” just a block from the mansion immortalized in folklore – the home of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.” This was Denver’s original upscale neighborhood. The homes here feature a variety of classical architectural styles, each with its own flamboyant and whimsical touches such as turrets, spires and porches. Eight elegantly appointed rooms and suites offer turn-of-the-century opulence with modern day flair. – Description courtesy of Capitol Hill Mansion
