Recap: From Warehouse to Workplace at INDUSTRY Denver Tour
On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, we toured INDUSTRY Denver. INDUSTRY is one of Denver’s adaptive reuse spaces – originally a warehouse and now “an inspired office environment” – located in RiNo at 3001 Brighton Boulevard. Britney Helmers, on the site’s design team, and Brooke Wilcken, SVP of Facilities, guided the tour.
About the tour: INDUSTRY discussed the story behind the magic – how they took what was and created what now is. INDUSTRY hopes you attendees departed feeling inspired, educated, and excited about their own projects!
About the site: Originally built in the 1940’s as a cold storage warehouse and serving as the city’s primary food market, INDUSTRY pays homage to the past by repurposing the structure for modern commercial use. Bringing together the pillars of lifestyle, INDUSTRY represents the pinnacle of place-making and culture-building. Despite being zoned for much denser use, the INDUSTRY team focused on quality over quantity and avoided the perils of “highest and best use”, allowing the warehouse to be restored to its former glory and beyond, encouraging 3001 Brighton Boulevard to, once again, be a focal point of major productivity and prosperity.
In ultimate respect for the building’s history, lofted ceilings and streaming natural light are juxtaposed with the geometric shaped hallways and offices, creating a non-linear experience for visitors and residents. Timeless design with modern touches, INDUSTRY has adapted the industrial warehouse into an inviting office space. Tenants are able to make their spaces unique and private while also enjoying interaction with the greater community in uplifting common areas. – Courtesy of INDUSTRY Denver
