As the historic seat of Colorado’s state government, the Capitol is a beacon of Democracy. The Colorado State Capitol has stood in Denver for nearly 130 years, and with it’s gold dome and local Colorado materials, has become a staple of the Denver skyline. Not just a historic site, but a working building/museum, the Capitol is where the legislature continues their work each year.

Site Specifics: 

The Capitol is open 7:30am-5pm, though official Doors Open Denver Open Site hours are 10am-4pm. Guided tours are available on a first come, first served basis at the top of the hour from 10am-2pm. The dome is accessible by guided tour only.

All guests will be required to go through security upon entering the building. Security information can be found at leg.colorado.gov.
