Martin Museum Residence

July 20, 2019

Join the Denver Architecture Foundation for what will be our event of the year – an evening at the Martin Museum Residence.

On Saturday, July 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, ticketed guests will experience one of the finest art collections and architectural spaces in all of Denver, accompanied by the culinary genius of Kevin Taylor.

Expert speakers will cover the architecture of the Museum Residences, including specifics on the Martin unit, and the Daniel Libeskind-designed Denver Art Museum, as well as the overall development of the surrounding area. A private tour of Sharon and Lanny Martin’s extraordinary collection of Post World War II Contemporary Art will be a highlight of the evening.

Our deepest thanks to Sharon and Lanny Martin for opening their private residence to DAF’s members and supporters and for generously hosting this rare occasion.

About the Martin Museum Residence Art Collection
Still, Calder, Stella, Warhol, Flavin, Chamberlain, de Kooning …. some of America’s greatest artists are among those represented by major works in the collection of Sharon and Lanny Martin. Each work was specifically selected to take advantage of the extraordinary spaces in the Martin’s penthouse that was designed by Daniel Libeskind, directly across the plaza from the Libeskind designed Frederic C. Hamilton wing of the Denver Art Museum. Continuing the Martin’s original vision of merging great contemporary art and architecture, the collection has expanded over the years to include important recent works by Mary Corse, Pat Steir, Alex Katz, and others.
