Paramount Theatre Walking Tour

Join DAF for a tour of one of Denver’s remaining glamourous art deco buildings, the Paramount Theatre, with guides Ti’Nesha Sampson and Emily Ryan, Paramount Theatre Event Managers. This tour is so special that we are offering it TWICE, Monday, March 9th, 4:30-6pm and Tuesday, March 10th, 4:30-6pm.
About the tour:
This tour will immerse attendees in the architecture of the 1920s as we look at the original art deco features and tapestries throughout the lobbies and auditorium.
About the building:
The Paramount Theatre was designed by Denver architect Temple Buell and built as a silent movie house. It opened on August 29th, 1930 showing “Let’s Go Native” (a silent film). The Paramount is one of just a few of Denver’s remaining tributes to the grandeur and opulence that characterized movie palace architecture in the 1920s. The theatre was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and was declared an historic landmark by the City of Denver in 1988. Kroenke Sports and Entertainment currently owns and books the theatre, as well as the Pepsi Center, The Denver Nuggets, The Colorado Avalanche, The Colorado Rapids, The Colorado Mammoth and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Parking & transportation: There is metered street parking and lots on the surrounding and nearby streets. As always, we encourage the use of public transportation and ride sharing.
