Adaptive Reuse at Art Studios | DOD 2026 Insider Tour

About the tour: Go behind the scenes of the innovative adaptive reuse project that transformed the former home of the Art Institute into 194 studio apartments. Located in the Golden Triangle neighborhood, the multi-family property features micro-style units, and amenities include a multifunction lobby, outdoor courtyard, and a penthouse lounge. Attendees will hear from the developer and architect regarding the history, concept, successes, and opportunities of the building before tour amenity spaces, a model unit, and ending the tour at the penthouse level club space.

About the tour guides: Rob Nichols, Project Manager and Partner at Nichols Partnership, Inc, began his real estate career as a commercial tenant representation broker for Cresa in Denver, CO. At Cresa, Robbie specialized in business development and corporate real estate transactions within the Denver and Cherry Creek markets.

Robbie holds a Master’s degree in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Indiana University. He is on the board of “THE HERD”, Denver Zoo’s young professionals organization.

As Project Manager, Robbie is involved in all aspects of managing the development process from land acquisition, construction and eventual sale of a project. He is currently involved in managing over 500,000 SF of active projects.

Tobias Strohe, Partner at JNS Architecture and Interior Design, contributes to the firm’s technical and creative direction. Tobias, who has 26 years of professional experience, ensures projects meet JNS’ high standards, collaborating with all partners and teams to create pragmatically beautiful solutions. His expertise spanning the entire spectrum of the architectural industry is balanced with an acute attention to detail. Tobias is a trained cabinet maker.
