About the tour: Situated on a 15-acre hillside adjacent to the Aylor Open Space trail network, the project explores how architecture can foster meaningful connections between people, learning, and the natural environment.
Attendees will experience the building’s curvilinear design, daylight-filled interiors, and integrated indoor/outdoor programming spaces, including gardens, nature-focused learning environments, and community gathering areas. The tour will highlight strategies related to site integration, biophilic design, experiential learning, and the creation of healthy, restorative public spaces. Participants will gain insight into the collaborative design process and the architectural decisions that support the library’s mission to help visitors “find their place in nature.”
About the building: The Anythink Nature Library represents a bold new vision for what a library can be – rooted in curiosity, connection, and access to the outdoors. Distinguished by its complex entry column and curvilinear design, the library stands out on its 15-acre hillside location adjacent to the 140-acre Aylor Open Space and trail network. Once inside, the central clerestory spine and huge organically shaped skylights fill the space with natural light. It is designed for exploration in every season, offering a variety of spaces and experiences that help the visitor connect with the outdoors in a meaningful way.
About the tour guides: This tour will be led by Ben Kallechey, AIA, and Byron Zick, AIA with Davis Partnership Architects.
Accessibility: The tour route will be fully accessible. Use of an assisted listening system will not be available.
