DOD In-Person Tour: Clyfford Still Museum

Saturday, October 9 + Sunday, October 10, 2021

Join DAF for an in-person tour of the Clyfford Still Museum. This tour will be offered TWICE:

  • Saturday, October 9, 9:00am-10:00am
  • Sunday, October 10, 9:00am-10:00am

About the tour: Join us for a special exploration of the Clyfford Still Museum. The two-story building of richly worked concrete was designed by Brad Cloepfil of Allied Works Architecture specifically to house and display the groundbreaking collection of its namesake artist. Come experience first hand how this exceptionally designed space enhances our experience of the art and stands as a work of art itself.

About the building: The Clyfford Still Museum is a dense, cantilevered two-story building of richly worked concrete deriving its presence from the earth. The two-story, 28,500 square-foot building was designed by Brad Cloepfil of Allied Works Architecture specifically to display Clyfford Still’s work.

About the tour guide: Allyson Johnson has been a part of the CSM Education team since February 2017. She comes from a background in Art History and Design. Allyson has had the pleasure of interacting with a variety of visitors of all ages and has facilitated workshops, lectures and lessons with school groups, community groups, scholars and many more.
