Downtown Area Plan Presentation | DOD 2026
September 25, 2026
About the event: Downtown Denver is at a pivotal moment. Join Andrew Iltis, one of the leaders behind the recently adopted and updated Downtown Area Plan, for an inside look at the vision shaping the city’s future, compiled by the City and County of Denver in partnership with the Downtown Denver Partnership. This engaging presentation explores the bold ideas, planning strategies, and community priorities guiding downtown’s evolution, covering topics from housing and mobility to parks, public spaces, economic vitality, and cultural destinations. This presentation is an opportunity to better understand how thoughtful planning can create a more resilient, connected, and vibrant downtown Denver for all.
About the Downtown Denver Partnership: Since 1955, the Downtown Denver Partnership has convened, collaborated and led a bold vision to build an economically competitive center city. With a bias for action, they invest for tomorrow and execute today, converging the right people at the right time to make an impact.
About the Presenter: Andrew Iltis loves cities and the people who bring them to life. As a senior vice president leader at the Downtown Denver Partnership, he works on projects that make downtown Denver more vibrant, connected, and resilient—from mobility and urban design to adaptive reuse and public space activation. He served as Principal-in-Charge of Denver’s Downtown Area Plan, co-founded Viva Streets, Denver’s largest open streets event series, and leads the Urban Exploration Program, helping civic leaders learn from great cities around the world. Andrew is especially interested in how bold ideas, thoughtful design, and a little experimentation can create places where people want to be.
