The final building on CSU’s Spur campus, located The final building on CSU’s Spur campus, located at the National Western Center, opened last week. Hydro joins the Vida and Terra buildings and is focused on water research and public education. The building features water-focused exhibits, teaching laboratories and an outdoor space that will collect rain water to grow vegetation. Hydro will be the home of CSU’s Masters of Agribusiness and Food Innovation Management program and will house Denver Water’s new water quality laboratory. All three buildings on the Spur campus are open for K-12 educational programming to encourage an interest in science from an early age.

City officials and the Downtown Denver Partnership City officials and the Downtown Denver Partnership are organizing four car free Sundays over May, June, July and August this year. The event will be called ¡Viva! Streets Denver and will close down 3.5 miles of Broadway and Welton streets. The concept of car-free streets—or “ciclovía” (Spanish for “bikeway”)—began in Bogota, Colombia in 1974. During the pandemic, Denver and other cities across the globe experimented with shared or pedestrian-friendly streets. Downtown Denver Partnership wants to bring some of the energy and community from this time back to Denver’s streets and give people the chance to see the city in a new way.
