A few scenes from a recent walking tour of West Hi A few scenes from a recent walking tour of West High School, on 9th and Elati in Denver. The building was designed by noted architect M.H. Edwards in 1926 in English gothic style, and executed in light brick with buff terracotta trimmings. The building was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1992. The original school was organized in 1883 and occupied two other buildings before moving to its current location.

the Y/OUR Denver 2025 Photo Competition
presented by @denverarchitecture + @cpacphoto

Doors Open Denver 2025 will celebrate the places and the people of our city that best represent this year’s theme, “Architecture and Nature in Harmony.” Photographers of all skill levels are invited to submit new or older images of architectural spaces in Denver for this juried competition.

All forms of architectural imagery are welcome: black & white, color, exterior, interiors, landscape architecture, and detail images. The show will be juried by David Lauer — @davidlauerphoto — who captures architecture and design with a cinematic eye.

Thirty images will be showcased in an online exhibition on the DAF and CPAC websites, along with an exhibition at the Chancery during the opening evening of Doors Open Denver on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

Submit at cpacphoto.org by July 11 📸
