Recap: Platte Fifteen Tour

Tour-goers explored the five-story Platte Fifteen building inside and out to better understand its sustainable and contemporary design. The group heard how the context of the award-winning building influenced its exterior and why mass timber was chosen for the project and it’s many benefits. Attendees passed through the building’s lobby on the way to the second level owner suite to discuss mass-timber design and construction in more detail. The tour culminated in the rooftop amenity area for amazing views of downtown and the front range.

About the building: Platte Fifteen is Denver’s first commercial cross-laminated timber building, a groundbreaking project for the region and community. The building features a striking design that draws architectural inspiration from its historic and revitalized surroundings, mixing patterned brick and transparency in a modern interpretation of the streetscape. Located at a transitional gateway to the City, and at a pivotal time in our history, this unique wood project links Denver’s pioneering past with its carbon-friendly future.
