Here’s your chance to explore the Museum of Contem Here’s your chance to explore the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver’s glass-clad Fries Building in downtown Denver. The first U.S. museum commission of renowned architect Sir David Adjaye OBE of Adjaye Associates, in the United Kingdom, the Fries Building was designed to minimize boundaries between the exterior spaces of the city and the interior of the museum. This tour will include works from MCA Denver’s newest exhibitions Bethany Collins: The Deluge; Ana María Hernando: Seguir cantando (Keep Singing); and Sammy Seung-min Lee: Becoming Motherland.

Tickets for Denver Architecture Foundation members are on sale now. If any remain after June 2, tickets will go on sale to the public on that date.

Wednesday, June 10, 4:30 p.m.

Once home to the Lowry Air Force Base, Lowry Beer Garden is nestled between two 1939 Air Force hangars. The first hangar was converted into Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, and “Hangar 2” is now home to office space, storage units, and various retail tenants.

This tour includes Lowry Beer Garden’s 9,000 square feet of outdoor space, plus indoor spaces and Rocket Ice Cream, life-sized space ship 50 feet high that was originally created as an art installation for the Burning Man Festival in 2009.

Participants will move through key spaces including the Katherine and J. Robert Wilson Art Gallery, Wold Family Heritage Center, event and conference areas, and social spaces such as the Legacy Saloon and Western Lounge, with insight into how material, structure, and circulation shape the experience of the building.
